Dip. Natropathy and Herbal Medicine, Postnatal Doula
Though I have long had an interest in natural health and wellness, I started off my career as a Nanny and then an Early Childhood teacher. I enjoyed teaching for 6 years before leaving to start my own family. During my time as a stay at home Mum, my family and I moved to Vanuatu and I ended up having four amazing children. Whilst my children were young and I was at home, I studied aromascience (the study of essential oils, how to use essential oils and formulate them in a range of products for clients). As my children grew older and needed to attend schooling we moved back to New Zealand and settled in the beautiful Hawkes Bay. Due to the wonderful climate and abundance of fruits and vegetables, I became passionate about growing my own food in a sustainable manner and studied permaculture design under Geoff Lawson. I then started working in a local permaculture nursery, which rekindled my love of growing medicinal herbs for use in healing teas. A conversation with a family member, led me to be encouraged to study Naturopathy and herbal medicine, so that I might start to help not only my own family but the wider community learn to use natural health to live their best life. Naturopathy and herbal medicine are such a huge passion of mine, Since completing my Naturopathic studies, I have also completed Postnatal Doula training. I love meeting clients, hearing their stories and helping them sort out the pieces of their health puzzle. I love working with women to help lessen their feelings of anxiety and reduce stress, as well as helping and empowering new Mothers through my work as a Postnatal Doula. It is an honour to walk alongside my clients on their journey to health and wellness.
